The Fastest Growing Region in the State

Did you know that Kapolei on the Island of Oahu is the fastest growing region in the state of Hawaii?

In the past 10 years the population has more than doubled in size and is expected to increase by 3 times that in 2035.  There is an overall younger crowd living in the Kapolei area, the median age is 31.2!  Over one quarter of this population has a college degree and higher and 70% of them own their own home compared with the rest of Honolulu at 55 percent.  Even the median income is higher than that of Honolulu by $8,000.00 annually.

There is so much going on in the Kapolei region, the new University of Hawaii College West Oahu campus is in the process of being built, new homes are coming up in new neighborhoods.  There’s a new Wal-Mart on the corner of Farrington Highway and Kapolei Parkway; Costco, Kmart and Home Depot are already there, movie theaters, tons of great eateries.  T here are many state and county offices, storage facilities, office and retail space available.  New roads are continuing to be built in anticipation of Kapolei being officially named the Second City of Oahu. 

The master plan includes malls, shopping centers, community centers, schools, parks and more jobs so that the people who live out there can work out there and not have to commute into the downtown Honolulu area everyday.  Traffic will be relieved and there will be less time spent on the road instead of at home with the family.
